What is the Terran Series?
The Terran Series is a collection of fifteen documents — and a set of live interactive tools — that propose a better way to organize time. Not a new app. Not a productivity system. A calendar reform grounded in how the Earth actually moves.
The calendar most of the world uses today — the Gregorian calendar — was designed in 1582 by a committee in Rome for the convenience of one civilization in one hemisphere. It has months of wildly different lengths (28, 29, 30, 31 days), a new year that begins on January 1st for no astronomical reason whatsoever, and no correction for the fact that half the world experiences the seasons in reverse.
The Terran Series starts over — from the planet itself, not from history.

The Terran Calendar does not ask you to stop using the Gregorian calendar at work or in daily life. It offers an alternative lens — one that is more mathematically consistent and more honest about where you actually stand on the planet.

What do the technical terms mean?
Two terms appear throughout the site that may be unfamiliar:
A DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is a permanent web address — like a library catalog number for the internet. Unlike a regular website link that can break or disappear, a DOI is guaranteed to work forever. When you see “Permanent DOI” next to a document, it means that document will always be findable at that exact address, no matter what happens to any other website.
CC BY 4.0 is a Creative Commons license. In plain language it means: free to read, free to share, free to build on — as long as you credit the author. You do not need to ask permission. You do not need to pay anything. The only requirement is that if you use or share this work, you say where it came from.
A suggested path through the site
If this is your first visit, here is the order we recommend. Each step builds on the one before it. You can stop at any point — but if you follow the full path, you will arrive somewhere genuinely different from where you started.
